Our Story
The Pier Cafe opened its doors in the early 20th century, and where it sits is steeped in history. The famous Factor’s Island sits less than 100 metres from the café and was where Rob Roy McGregor famously imprisoned the Duke of Montrose’s factor.
We are Mark and Eilidh and we reopened the Café in April 2022. Since then we have welcomed many visitors from across the world. The Café is operated day to day by ourselves and our family members, we have three children who love to get involved – eating lots of home-bakes and ice cream while doing so! We love getting to know our customers, and hopefully adding something to your holiday - especially if you choose to stay nearby in Stronachlachar!
We look forward to welcoming new and returning visitors to our stunning café. Please feel free to come and have a chat with us about any special events or requirements you may have, and we will be pleased to help.

About The Pier Cafe
The Pier Café often described as Scotland’s most scenic Café, sits on the banks of Loch Katrine at the Stronachlachar Pier. We are a family run, licensed cafe open all year round, providing a place to relax and enjoy a meal with friends, or simply take in the breath-taking views with a coffee, glass of wine or local beer.
We offer simple, great, locally sourced food for breakfast, lunch and early evening meals with freshly made pizzas available throughout the day. Our menu can be enjoyed on the premises or taken away to enjoy on your picnic in the hills.
Mucky boots and dirty paws are always welcome - you will likely get to meet our resident springers Lexi and Daisy on your visit!
